ling Kong.
With reference to our letter of the 5th
November, I have to inform you that we have now re-
ceived a telegram from the Government of liong Kong
notifying us that a pension of £73. 12. O per annum
has been granted to Mr. C.W.J.Brett from the 1st
January next, and instructing us to issue it to you.
The pension is, we conclude, subject to a deduction
of 4% on account of the Widows' and Orphans' Fund, and
payment will therefore be made to you at the net rate
of £70. 13. 1 per annum.
2. A form to enable you to draw Ir. Brett's
pension as it becomes due will be sent to you each
month, as in the case of his salary, about a fortnight
after the end of the period for which payment is being
made
-
unless you would prefer to receive payment quarterly, in which case you should so inform us and wo
will make a similar arrangement, only at intervals of
three months instead of one.
